'La Opinión' interviews Alexandre Peres Vigo
6th March 2021

The newspaper from Coruña publishes in its Saturday edition an interview on the occasion of Pérez Vigo's defence of his dissertation 'O estereotipo antigalego na literatura española moderna'.

Journalist Marta Otero writes the piece, in which the new Doctor from UDC asserts that the negative outlook on Galiza starts when it begins to be subdued by Castilia, while he also explains how this stereotype is formed during the middle centuries. Dr. Pérez Vigo links this stereotype, transmitted through Spanish literature, with the emergence of a critical counterdiscourse contained in the works of the Priest of Fruime and those published during the 'Rexurdimento', with a special reference to Cantares Gallegos by Rosalía de Castro.

Alexande Pérez Vigo's dissertation was oriented by Prof. Manuel Ferreiro, a member of ILLA
