Agrupación Cultural Alexandre Bóveda and the University of A Coruña sign a collaboration protocol

Through this protocol, the ACAB and the UDC formalize an agreement to cover joint activities by  the cultural association from A Coruña and the ILLA group.


The signed document includes the forecast of various scientific and cultural activities by both entities, including the exchange of bibliographic materials, events to disseminate scientific and cultural activity and training activities by teachers attached to the ILLA group. The agreement has a duration of four years, the maximum allowed by the University of A Coruña, and may be renewed at the initiative of either party.

The Cultural Association Alexandre Bóveda, founded in 1976, has as priority objectives the promotion and defense of the Galician language and culture, as well as the dissemination of the figure and thought of the illustrious nationalist who gives name to the entity. The group carries out an intense sociocultural work that is based on the projection of the Galician language, literature and culture, in a theater workshop, in a chess workshop, in the defense of women's rights, in the publication of the issues of the "Biblioteca Alexandre Bóveda", in exhibitions, in the collaboration with various other groups and, at the same time, in the constant research work on topics such as the birth and impact of the Irmandades da Fala, the recovery and dissemination of Galician toponymic heritage or the interaction of the language with technological advances. The relationship of the ILLA group with the ACAB in the form of the activities that the protocol includes has been around for a long time; furthermore,  one of the members of the group, Xosé Manuel Sánchez Rei, is the former president and the current vice-president of the entity.
