The event featured professor Isaac Lourido, a member of ILLA, and the poet Emma Pedreira.
The discussion, moderated by Xosé Ramón Freixeiro Mato, focused on the poetic trajectories of the author honored in the Día das Letras Galegas in 2020 and the author celebrated in the present 2021. This perspective was adopted according to the decision of the Commission of Linguistic Normalization of the Faculty of Philology, organizer of the round table, of extending the commemoration of the figure of Ricardo Carvalho Calero, due to the atypical circumstances of the last year.
Firstly, Emma Pedreira offered a detailed explanation of the unique trajectory of Arias, in dialogue with her photographs, while, secondly, Isaac Lourido set out the main thematic lines of the extensive poetic production of the author from Ferrol. After both interventions, several people attending the event posed questions and reflections on the topics covered. Finally, the moderator of the event invited the public to continue the celebration of Letras Galegas in the reading marathon of texts by Xela Arias and Ricardo Carvalho Calero, followed by a concert by the Banda da Loba, which also organizes the Commission of Linguistic Normalization of the Faculty and which will take place on May 12 in the University of A Coruña Assembly Room.
