Hospital de letras is a collection of six specialist essays on contemporary Galician and Portuguese narrative and non-fiction writing, including detailed analysis of works by Eduardo Blanco-Amor, Ramón Otero Pedrayo, António Pedro, Ricardo Carvalho Calero and Vicente Risco. Literary criticism and philosophy merge and overlap as the author probes and uncovers the ethical and aesthetic truths of literary expression. The final essay in the volume is a thought-provoking reflection on ‘Predictions and projections in contemporary Galician fiction’.
