The conference is organized by Prof. Isaac Lourido, a member of ILLA.
Carlos Lixó holds a PhD in History from the University of Santiago de Compostela. His area of expertise is the medieval period, specifically the emergence of castles and fortifications in the Galician region. A secondary school teacher, he recently completed the project "Falemos do Reino de Galicia," a YouTube web series funded by the Culture Department of the A Coruña Provincial Council as part of its "Fondo Cultural do Reino de Galicia" initiative. The project was awarded the 2022 Youtubeiras Prize for Linguistic Quality, recognized for its contribution to raising awareness in today's society of a historical reality that has not always been addressed with the desired rigor in official historiography.
The conference will focus on this and other topics, and following Carlos Lixó's initial presentation, it will be open to questions and discussion with the audience.
