Donosiña, a drama in three acts and a prologue, was first performed at the Xofre Theatre in Ferrol on 7 April 1920, starring and directed by the play’s author, Xaime Quintanilla.

Unpublished until now, Quintanilla’s Donosiña is a unique example of pre-civil war drama in Galicia, in terms of both the style of the play and its subject matter. Selected for production by the National Conservatoire of Galician Art in 1920, the resulting controversy and disagreements over the play among different members of the Irmandades were to prove the seeds of the conservatoire’s demise just two years later.
