Organized by the ILLA group and with the support of the Faculty of Philology, the first meeting of this academic forum took place last Friday. The meeting aims at serving as a point of dialogue and encounter for researchers in Galician theater.
The meeting met the proposed objectives: the mutual knowledge of the people who are researching in the Galician theater, the diffusion of the collections of the Library-Archive and the presentation of the new stage; to encourage specialists to present proposals for the publication of specialized studies and to seek synergies that strengthen the line of theatrical research within the ILLA Group.
This event was attended by Iolanda Ogando (University of Extremadura), Manuel F. Vieites (ESAD), Vanesa Sotelo (Revista Galega de Teatro), Marta Pérez (Inversa Teatro-Mulleres creando) and Joel R. Gômez (Grupo Galabra). During the morning, the scientific session took place, and in the afternoon a visit was made to the collections of the Francisco Pillado Mayor Theater Library-Archive, as well as to the exhibition on Galician theater in the archives prepared by the Library of the Faculty of Philology, directed by Marta Lago (https://www.flickr.com/photos/127396702@N07/albums/72157709050763686/with/48049901012/).
The results of this experience encourage the group ILLA to organize new meetings around the theatrical genre in the future.
