This afternoon the city of Compostela will host the presentation of A lingua das cantigas. Gramática do galego-portugués by the Italy-based Swedish philologist Pär Larson.

Manuel Ferreiro, professor of Galician and Portuguese Philology at the UDC and member of ILLA, will participate in the presentation of this work, along with the author, and in the company of Henrique Monteagudo, secretary of the RAG, Francisco Castro, director of Galaxia, and Mariña Arbor, professor at USC and translator of the work into Galician.

A lingua das cantigas is an Italian translation of La lingua delle cantigas. Grammatica del galego-portoghese edited last year 2018 by Carocci Editore. It is a descriptive grammar of the language of profane and Marian poetry of the 13th and 14th centuries.

Its author, Pär Larson, is a researcher at the Istituto Opera del Vocabolario Italiano in Florence and a specialist in lexicography, and in recent years he has combined his research on ancient Italian with the elaboration of the grammar he presents today in Compostela.
