Laura Tato collects the "Roberto Vidal Bolaño" Honour Award
16th July 2021
Adro de Santo Domingo, Ribadavia

The professor received this award in the opening day of the 37 Ribadavia International Theatre Festival.

The "Roberto Vidal Bolaño" Honour Award was estabilished with the goal of giving public recognition to the collectives or individuals who are notoriously responsible for the progress and the good practices in Galician performing arts, a recognition which, according to its promoters, favours social and cultural modernization and democratization. The mayor of Ribadavia, Noelia González, and the deputy of the Government, Emilio González Afonso, were the people in charge of handing the awards to Laura Tato and Manuel F. Vieites.

The director of the Festival, Roberto Pascual, stated to the newspaper Faro de Vigo that "this prize is a recognition to their research work and the academic prestige they gave to theatre, because sometimes we forget that theater implies the study in the academic field and, even if both will be retired this year, they leave a great legacy for us to continue the professionalization and the innovation in performing arts".
