Manuel Ferreiro, editor of the complete work of Eduardo Pondal, will explain the development and textual history of "Os pinos", the poem that was the base of the Galican anthem.
In this conference he will explain the transmission errors on the lyrics of the poem and the continued existence on the oficial anthem text of Spanish words and traditional Galician vocabulary, which the author from Ponteceso had acknowledged when he was alive.
The lecture given by Professor Ferreiro will focus on the detailed expounding of the philological reasons that support the popular legislative initiative, presented on the Parliament register on December, which aims to restore the anthem words acording to Pondal's text.
